Italian manufacturing: the strength of those who innovate and reinvent themselves: MECSPE returns to Bologna from March 3 to 5, 2027. At BolognaFiere, the new edition of the exhibition will showcase companies looking to the future, technologies and skills to address the sector’s emerging challenges.

Following the success of the 2026 edition, which recorded more than 60,000 trade visitors and over 2,000 exhibiting companies, MECSPE is preparing for its next event dedicated to the Italian manufacturing industry.

At a time when the manufacturing industry is being called upon to navigate increasingly complex scenarios, MECSPE returns for its 25th edition at BolognaFiere from March 3 to 5, 2027, with the aim of highlighting the strength of a sector that continues to innovate, invest and reinvent itself. Organized by Senaf, the exhibition confirms its role as a key event and a privileged meeting and networking platform for companies, professionals and stakeholders, where technologies, expertise and supply chains come together to transform today’s challenges into new growth opportunities for manufacturing.

Based on the results achieved by the 2026 edition — which welcomed 60,581 visitors, featured more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, 13 thematic halls and 18 special initiatives, and saw growing international participation with 340 companies from more than 20 countries — MECSPE is preparing for a new edition aimed at further strengthening its role as a relational and business hub for the sector.

The journey toward 2027 begins in a context in which manufacturing companies are required to interpret ongoing changes and turn them into new growth trajectories. The latest data from the MECSPE Observatory, recently presented during the opening conference of the latest edition, provide a snapshot of a sector that continues to focus on innovation, efficiency and skills in order to strengthen competitiveness and resilience.

What emerges is a dynamic manufacturing industry investing in automation and digitalization as drivers of efficiency, while also embracing more structural transformations, from customization to the energy transition and environmental sustainability. Even in a scenario marked by international uncertainty, fluctuating raw material prices and difficulties in finding adequately skilled professionals, the sector continues to demonstrate its ability to adapt and leverage the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Italian manufacturing excellence. Within this framework, MECSPE 2027 further reinforces its role as a platform for industry development and professional updating, focusing on the strategic themes shaping the sector’s evolution: technological innovation, production efficiency, automation, robotics, digitalization, training and networking.

In the upcoming edition, the thematic halls, special initiatives and conference program will provide companies and visitors with a concrete opportunity to engage with the most relevant topics for manufacturing and discover firsthand technologies, skills and solutions supporting the industry. Among the key events, the opening conference will return, during which the new MECSPE Observatory on the manufacturing industry will be presented in the presence of institutions and stakeholders. The exhibition path will also feature dedicated areas and projects focused on the main transformations shaping manufacturing, called MECSPE LAB, designed to encourage demonstrations, in-depth analysis and dialogue among companies, research institutions and industry professionals.

“MECSPE 2027 comes at a time when industry is facing major challenges, but also has the opportunity to enhance its ability to innovate, adapt and create new opportunities,” said Maruska Sabato, Project Manager of MECSPE. “For this reason, the new edition aims to further strengthen the exhibition’s role as a meeting and discussion point for the industrial community: a space where companies, supply chains and stakeholders can find in technologies, skills and relationships concrete tools to interpret change and support the sector’s competitiveness.”

From March 3 to 5, 2027, MECSPE will once again be the place where industry leaders come together to look toward the future of Italian manufacturing.
